Get to know Mainz
Mainz in Germany is the place where Gutenberg invented the printer and is also the capital of the state of Rhineland- Palatinate. It’s a city which invites you to park you camper for a while and enjoy a combination of cultural activities and sports, spending your free time pleasantly. During the day, you can have a look at one of the numerous museums of the city (above all the National Museum and The Gutenberg Museum), or go sightseeing and see some of the religious monuments (like the Mainz Cathedral or St Stephen’s Church). And at night, you can spend your time bar-hopping through the cosy bars and later go to a cool club, or two.
Activities in Mainz
• Johnnisfest starts on St Martin’s day or ‘Martinstag’ and brings in hundreds of thousands of people every summer to celebrate the festival on the Rhine. It revolves around a number of different folklorist theatre, arts and music performances
• Not only Munich enjoys the flow of beer from its Oktoberfest, Mainz too is famous for its beer loving. In fact, it is said they the city consumes 42,000 litres per head each year.
• The Open Ear festival or the ‘open-ohr-festival’ is organised every May for students and offers music groups from all over the world.
• The Fastnacht Carnival of Mainz is also well known throughout Germany and dazzles spectators every year with different parades including giant heads, music, jesters and jugglers. It’s a true spectacle of colour throughout the city on the streets.
Where to Rent a camper
At Hanggtime we adapt to your needs so that you can take it easy and not worry about a thing. If you arrive by train, plane or bus, we can wait for you at the station with your van ready to drive. We will also wait for you wherever is convenient when it’s time for you to return your camper.
If you come by car or motorbike, we’ll meet you in the area you feel is best to drop off the van, and in the meantime we can also store your own vehicle in a safe place while you travel. If you have any questions or special requirements, don’t hesitate to contact us and we’ll personally answer all queries.
You can contact Hanggtime with any question that arises, not only about your camper, but also privileged info about the place you are visiting and any queries you have. The vans will be given to you with full water and petrol tanks, and of course, they’ll be technical checked for you to enjoy the best conditions.
The camping equipment includes two chairs, a table and a complete crockery set with plates and cutlery for an additional cost. Also we provide travel beds. The only thing missing is a bit of good humour and the enthusiasm for an adventure, pyjamas, a sleeping bag and a pillow. On your return you only need to give back the camper in a good condition and we’ll take care of the final cleaning.
For van rentals of a week, you can pick up the t3 or t5 camper on Saturday from 10am and drop it off the following Friday before 2pm. These times are fixed and must be adhered to. Every half an hour after these times will be charged at 20 €.
